Update

The internet was out for the last three days, but fortunately Jeff Thompson, the Forward Edge full time employee in Puerto Cabezas, has a modem I was able to borrow for a few minutes to download some homework assignments.  A lot has happened in the last few days; two days ago some of Pastor Earl's workers has some kind of disagreement with how things were being done, so a lot of them don't work here at Verbo any more; The water in the river where the ferry is finally got low enough for the ferry to start bringing vehicles over, so the truck I am going to be using to get to the work sight has finally arrived; The grader that we are going to use to prepare the baseball field for planting is supposed to get here today, and I am still loving the experience here, I learn something new every day.

Yesterday, five of the high school boys, their house dad Jose Montana, Don Rappacciolli one of the main guys in the Verbo system, and I went to Wa Wa Boom, which is where the ferry and Verbo's broken down semi are located.  We loaded 50 bags of cement into the pick up truck that we drove there in, and then we waited while Don Rappacciolli and Jose Montana took that load back; it is about two hours each way from Puerto Cabezas to Wa Wa Boom because the roads are so bad.  Five of the boys and I took off in little hand crafted canoes across the Rio Wa Wa, which is about the size of the Willamette River.  We swam in the river and cruised up river a little ways; I will upload a few pictures so you can really get the feel for what it was like.  Don Rappacciolli and the red truck returned just before sun set, so we loaded up 60 more bags, then loaded up into the truck so we could cross the ferry and drive home.  On the way home I chose to ride in the back with the guys, which ended up not being nearly as bad as I expected.  Sitting on the metal rack with a plastic cushion worked for about 45 minutes, and then standing the rest of the way was not bad at all.  We got back around 9:00, ate dinner, and then went to bed.
